A night of debauchery with Dom
Ding Dong!
man, it's freezing out here.
Ding Dong!
Oh, hello! Thanks for letting me in Kiosh. Should I take off my shoes?
Oh. Ok. Here's my coat. Thanks.
Man! What a nice place you've got here. I really like what you've done with the candles. And stars. It's all very Trading Spaces... like bold and dramatic, but still soothing and classy. It's very you! Oh, sure, I'll have a drink.
In here? Ah, here's everybody! Cool. Now this is a party. Hey guys, I'm Dom from http://heydomsar.diaryland.com. Glad to meet you. I don't cook that well, so instead, I brought everyone a mix cd. Hope you enjoy. Where are you kids from? I'm a wholesome midwestern boy.

So what have we all been talking about here? I love to sit and chat.
Oh, hang on, the phone's ringing. Kiosh, should I get that?
Anyway, where were we?
So this one time, {in band camp} this crazy stuff happened... it was all like woah! and then I was like...
Wait, nm. I forgot, I completely suck at telling a story. I like writing though. but I like it even better when people comment or message me on it because then I actually get to discuss and interact. That's my favorite. To get into some lengthy, interesting conversation and have my mind blown. I'm always looking for someone who will get into a heated debate with me.... though most people think i'm trying to argue, but that's not it. I just want to be stimulated! That's one of the things Kiosh, here, is good for. You always have some thought provoking question to spark a conversation.
And this is a nice party, with some evocative, yet chilled background music. What can we talk about?
hmm...
Anyone reading any good books? I'm in the middle of Specimen Days by Michael Cunningham. Very dreamy writing style, like a long poem. So far, it's about a boy that speaks only in Walt Whitman quotes. I just finished Catcher in the Rye and Nine Stores again, both by J.D. Salinger. He's one of my favorites. Only stuff I ever reread. It's so angsty. The main ideas revolve around the theme that the world doesn't understand me and I don't understand the world. That seems to fit me somehow. And he always trumpets children as a bastion of good and innocent.
And that's another topic. What is with metropolitan women and their complete lack of maternal instincts? It seems all the women I meet who are my age {mid-20's} are adamant about never wanting children. I mean, I don't need one right this minute, but I don't like how they are all so against the idea of ever having one ever. You tell me that and I automatically assume there is something basically wrong with your character. Having affection for children should come natural for women, right? At least a lot of them will admit to the fact that they aren't interested for completely selfish reasons. But that's not helping my opinion of you either. Am I crazy or completely old-fashioned? Feel free to discuss amongst yourselves.
Ok, new topic. Hmm.. you got anything Kiosh? Oh, my boss asked me to volunteer a few hours this week sorting gifts for the troops in Iraq and I was very conflicted. I mean, I have a lot of compassion for the men and women we send over seas to die. I think the courage they show in being willing to suffer and/or die for a cause is honorable and admirable. But I just can't get behind the cause they're dying for. Basically for war in general, but especially this one. Trying to end terrorism is one thing, but we're not talking about Afganistan and fighting Taliban anymore, we're out there touting Democracy as the ultimate solution, when it's not working that great for anyone else, and we're killing innocents and people with another ideology just to force it down their throats. I just can't support killing as a means to anything. Especially an end I don't don't support either. How do we all feel about the war?
Alright, something less provacative? These candy things are delicious by the way, Kiosh. Jelly Tots, you say? Yum.
So, who's seen any good movies? I haven't seen one in months. I'm so behind. I like thinkers, instead of big-budget action flicks. Is there anything engaging out right now? I really liked Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind. And Before Sunset. And, hmm, Amélie, of course. Anything else that makes you stop and think so that you can't get it out of your head the rest of the week? I'm dying for a movie like that. Although, even the best ones go right out of my head because I can't remember worth crap. Sometimes I think I'm the guy from Memento. Which was another great movie, btw. Anyone see that one?
Well,
Ok, good night!
